Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Sign Language Pedagogy and Audio Pedagogy

ProToM

"Promoting Deaf/Hard of Hearing Children's Theory of Mind and Emotion Understanding" (ProToM) is a strategic partnership between research and practice partners from four European countries that runs from 2018 to 2021.

This partnership is funded by the European Union (Erasmus+) and Movetia.

The aim is to develop an evidence-based modular training programme for the promotion of theory-of-mind competences and emotional knowledge and the related sign language and spoken language competences of deaf and hard of hearing children.

It offers different methodological approaches and materials to take into account the diversity of pupils (different learning conditions, age groups, educational contexts, language skills and cultures).

The training programme will first be tested in schools and educational institutions in the various partner countries. The results will then be disseminated throughout Europe by making all exercises and materials available free of charge on a homepage in different languages.
