Profile of the Department for Sign Language Pedagogy and Audio Pedagogy
We contribute to an education that respects the diverse needs of people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have any type of hearing impairment, regarding their various lifestyles as well as their linguistic and cultural diversity as a true enrichment.
The aim of our pedagogy is self-determination and unrestricted participation for people with hearing impairment in all aspects of life. Sign Language Pedagogy and Audio Pedagogy provide different educational opportunities including bimodal-bilingual and intercultural approaches. This comprises all aspects of spoken, written and signed education, as well as auditory intervention and facilitating psychosocial and cognitive development.
